S.T.E.M Reflection

W.A.L.T: we are learning to problem solve as a team and work together.
what we did: we had to design a chair out of paper and tape, that had to be 10cm high which had to also hold a stuffed toy.
whta went well:we finished in time and we work together and let everyone share their ideas.
what was challenging:it failed but it might work next time and it kept falling over.

A panda life cycle.

The last couple of weeks my class has been writing life cycles we have done frogs,pandas and tuataras im going to show you a life cycle writing about pandas what I did well:planning the writing.this is what you need title,subtitles,introduction,factual information and technical language .

Panda life cycle

Wonder why pandas are white and black? Well keep  reading to find out because im gonna tell you about a life cycle of pandas that starts from newborn,to cub,to independent and finally an adult.

Newborn stage:

Newborns are blind and helpless they would have to stay in their den for several days and after 3 months they would start crawling and turn into a cub.

Cub stage:

Cubs now eat bamboo instead of their mums milk,cubs normally die because they are defenseless. They  stay in their den while their mum hunts for food for them to eat this panda is now independent 

Independent stage:

and weighs 45kgs true fact out of newborn,cub,independent and adult the most mature is independent .Now i'm going to tell you why they are white and black,they are white and black because their white fur camouflages into snow and their black fur camouflages into rain,after a long time it would turn into a full grown.

Adult:

They normally live up to 20 years and have just one cub but if they have two they take care of one and abounded the other and they are only allowed to get pregnant 2-3 times a year then they enjoy their life cycle

sand dunes!

Hello,today my class met Christchurch city council at the beach to learn about sand dunes.First we talked about them, everyone had a name tag which represents a colour that we would have to work  in a group. she said we have to create a team sand dune that´s what we did, I didn´t really know what to do though but when I came to my group they told me😀 now I can help the group out too.After that we had morning tea for ten minutes then went back to her and went on a real sand dune we learnt about animals that live at the beach. After that she gave us some stuff to decorate our sand dunes we got sushi rolls for the bridge and mini green fish nets for the end and front.

The best best day Ever!

My class has been doing writing and this week we have worked on poems about something that has happened in the past I love making poems because they are fun to make.My next step is to add detail to my writing,anyways this is my poem!

The best day ever! 

I saw flashing green  trees everywhere as we slowly drove through the camp area.

I heard trees swishing side to side when the leafs fell down.I felt relaxed while it was nice and peaceful.

I wonder if i´m going back?I saw a blue shiny river sparkling to nature. 

I heard birds chirping around me sweetly.
