The Bad Luck Duck

 WALT: Use creativity when creating images.

Today in writing we had to make a story about our school duck with an image.

 My story is based on a duck that hated being the exact same duck as its family, so at the age of 8 with boat training and enough bravery left for good, well he thought. after a year and a bit he found a new island to live on after the old ones had trouble. Accept surprisingly it was his family's island. 

This story made me excited and wanted to write more. Here is my image,

African Drum Visitors.

 WALT: Write a report on school events.

Today we had some talented African drummers come into New Brighton Catholic School. We were taught interesting new things. they started by showing a surprisingly LOUD song, including dancing, drumming and singing. They used Shekere, Djembe and  Xylophones, 

Then there were single drums in front of the stage, while people got turns. I was chosen! We started by doing hand/arm warm-ups to prevent soreness throughout our arms. Then he counted to 4 and we had to try go the fastest we could! Then we added some dancing with singing, the African drummers joined in too, creating blasting terrific music you can hear from about a mile away. Then we did this African song!

After that we learnt some basic dance moves, from another African drumming song! The dance moves gave most students a smile of joy on their faces. Then me and Kate got up and thanked them for their time and as well with extreme effort.

Today With Miss Holland, me and my class had to trace an image of our choice! I picked a roach because its simple and its me🤭 during this process, it wasn't the hardest, knowing people around me have picked extremely hard things. with loads of detail!! this was a fun task and I already got used to tracing as I did me yesterday! here is my roach, with and without tracing.

Strength

its a very strange photo, so we had to use adjectives and create a story about his way to get up there, I have created a story, Lets be honest I don't think giraffe's can climb.

Story: Strength

The bare struggles reach within, not giving up. The hooves almost slip, but he held on, tight. He has wanted to experience some other animal stances, but it was tricky. Although, even though it was hard. He did not give up! After climbing he met some intense vines looping the tree. He kept going, not knowing one thing. The vines were dry, also VERY spiky.

He felt extraordinarily pain, crawling down his arm. He made it too the top. But ended up tottering about half way, terrifically he gave up. And became a koala. Lets be honest, for a few seconds before the tree branch snapped...

There are many things to do in this city, fun and interesting things! Today I will share with you,

Christ Church a safe place, you may call home. Christ Church is full of adventures, parks, walks and outside things! We have nature! Also animals, that live in this city.

During my life, growing up here. It was amazing. Every day you went out, it would feel like there would be something for a day each! There are gondola´s, Playgrounds, Trams, Boats, Pools, rowing, all included in Christ Church for you!

Abraham And Sarah.

Since yesterday we have been learning about Abraham and Sarah and how the have struggled with having kids for years. it was always been there wish. this was created on a google slide.

What Part Do You Find Inspiring About Abraham & Sarah? What Have You Learnt?

This is their story,

Abraham and Sarah have dreamed for years for kids, but there was never any luck. they saw many people with kids or pregnant. they felt sad knowing they could´t even though it was their dreams! But one day a voice was recognised; it was God! telling Abraham and Sarah to move to Gerar, so they could raise their kids, but their kid was still not there. but God said to keep waiting. years and years past, but nothing. until God spoke again saying. on your 100th birthday she will give birth to a boy!! When Abraham told Sarah she laughed in disbelief. Accept it was true! she gave birth and named him Issac, which means laughter. Accept they were still confused as God said a lot of kids. but not their kids! as Issac grew up he had kids, then his kids too, then it kept going on!. and that is when the son of God was born. Jesus!!

Antarctica Camping Compared To Ours.

 WALT: Make comparisons.

today is Monday, we have been learning to write about comparisons about the Antarctica camping compared to ours. we had 15 minutes to write about it, there are many differences. this was created on a google slide.  what do you know most about Antarctica? ⛄  Do you know someone who has been there? writing:

Once a year since yr 5, we have been going to camp. But we are talking about the differences between camping at |Antarctica| & school camp. Antarctica has many things we don't have, but the people camping there probably think the same about us, they have snow they have ice. We don't have that unless it comes occasionally. But its not normal for New Zealand unless its cold, raining/ hailing, all together. We have facilities they don't have. We have sun! They have breeze! Antarctica has to use buckets and bottles for their toilets when we go camping we have normal flushing toilets. It would be a cool experience to go to Antarctica.

The Pie Thief

today in writing we have been learning to write using all the writing skills we have learnt over the week we have learnt simile, alliteration & hyperbole. so we had to mix those together and make a story using them all! I created this on a google doc. adding all those makes a interesting story from scratch so try yourself! what do you like mostly about writing? 📝

here is my story: The Pie Thief.

One cold evening I was shivering like I somehow got electrocuted. But I was just cold, I went to watch some TV after being sick for a few hours. I shook the spare shivers off and stumbled heading down. Ow, that hurt. I was starving I could have eaten all my food in less then half a second! As I walked over I sniffed delighted the delicious pie!, baked for me!! Until. My annoying sister hopped in like a boomerang and ate My pie right in front of me. ¨Jealousy jealousy¨

I sighed to myself, and baked myself a new one. Went out of the room for about 1 minute and it was gone! I went to the spare kitchen to see my sister holding the spare pie! ¨If I cant have it neither can anyone else¨ I said,

as I yanked it out of her hand. whoops? I pushed it in the wrong direction and there it went right on my sisters face.. She had sloppy pastry all over her face stuck like a magnet. I thought to myself this could be time where I get revenge on my pie thief sister!! I laughed, I grabbed water and the filing of the pie off the ground and the tasty filling splashed on her face like someone had just put whipped cream on her face.

Then for the final details I added some fresh water on top of her head. She was furious but she tried to chase after me but ended up just to slip. I ran back to the normal kitchen but mum was standing there like she had just saw something she hated. Maybe it was me? Well she doesn't hate me right?? Next thing I knew she went off like a blizzard! This after that. She finally let me speak and my words were ¨then just don't become a pie thief¨ I said, with a grin..

The Life Story Of Jesus

 WALT: Understand the life story of Jesus.

Today we had the choice between understanding the life story of Jesus or recall events in the life of Jesus. I picked the first one. the goal was to watch a video about Jesus´s life and write down video notes. I did five I enjoyed this as it was fun and easy. I added the video so you could try yourself and write some information about the video. VIDEO from this video I learnt some things.

 That Yellow Loner

One shivering night me and my friends

went for a drive to a very quiet town,

its like no one has been there since the

80´s if we have to describe it. It was so grotty with

strangled pillars wrapped with intense vines.

I was going to turn back then my friends encouraged me to keep going,

we stopped at a country court house thinking someone was in there,

but to our surprise when we came out we saw wild animals with wicked driving skills,

wrestling down the road. I thought to myself that they have very wonderful wipe-outs,

while they were wrestling nonstop..

The Dragon´s Sorrow

Time flashes by like it was only yesterday. I´m hear to talk about the story of the dragons sorrow…

it was my brothers 5th birthday. He was spoilt with lots of gifts but one thing showed up unexpectedly, the kid wanted air

so he climbed terrifically until he reached the top of the staircase. He saw something that made his jaw drop like a window opening. He saw a dragon! As he had no idea what to do he let out a scream.. But to his surprise nobody came, it was like they were ignoring him. He felt guilty for absolutely nothing. He tried to communicate with the dragon, but it had its on ways to talk. Sooner or later I came up knowing he would be here but I could only see fog like a tornado had hit, but nothing was damaged. I was confused as I saw a dragon with sloppy scales I walked behind as I got terrified when they both turned around,

I thought my brother was being controlled by this dragon, but then my brother greeted my just with the annoying ¨greetings rat¨ I hate when you call me that I said with a angry face, I noticed he was sitting on the slimy back I told him to get off immediately but that didn't work one bit, he was now the one encouraging me!! I soon got on scared for life as we twisted and turn, and soon we made it to an abandoned stable, if expired stables expected this would be it. The hay was disgusting not just the hay everything! 

But then I saw something a note crumbled that looked like it was written million´s of years ago, if time excited then..

Being Reliable.

 Walt: Be Reliable.                                                                                                                                             During Lock-down we have been learning to be reliable about the things we do, like our jobs around the house. when then had to get a google drawing and write about what we do around the house, and add images. we have learnt not to lie about things you do. I have multiple jobs I do throughout my house.           what jobs do you find entertaining in your house?    how many jobs do you have per day?
